Due to the sudden death of one of its creators, 500rads may be no more.

This blog was created as a "feeler" ... to see if there was a continued interest in a Cloverfield sequel, as well as an experiment on how viral marketing spreads.

Sixteen participants were given certain tasks; they had to run with them. Not all of those involved completed their tasks: One ended up parallelized; one disappeared; and several more created blogs/sites which ended up so Helter/Skelter they were deemed total garbage - i.e. c111111 (and that's not the worst of it).

One roll in the 500rads blog was "Hal" and the 2001/2010 references: "The Year We Make Contact" 2010.
... We had no idea (at that time) that this would involve Spielberg and Abrams ... It was just a little bug in our ear.

There's a lot more to this story.

As my mind absorbs the absurdity that one unruly child could stubbornly evoke such madness, I hereby stand fast in the hopes of recovering my original identity. I started this blog out of madness, and (the irony) it appears this will end likewise.

Of all the concerns - trying the serum on real people after it's been through plenty of tests and development - I have unwittingly become an experiment within an experiment! You cannot imagine the deep hurt I have knowing the truth, while not knowing my own outcome. An examination of my previous post would conclude: the virus is not only spreading, but at an alarmingly high rate of speed! Those children were part of yet another failed attempt to extract a specific compound that was responsible for this interesting bioactivity! Not all of their bodies were found on the floor, six of the subjects escaped and they may be out there; trying to find the help that many of us are now seeking. DO NOT LET ANY ONE OF THEM IN!

The skin of the creature, while not made of iron, has already been integrated into modern warfare mechanisms. The transformation process has greatly exceeded the knowledge of those who have the skills using such weaponry. It's only a matter of time to see which power dominates this field. As well as the venom from the so-called parasites, which has also been integrated into the cells of many unwittingly unknown specimens, a third compound exists that only an extremely few know about.

Furthermore, the Expo is scheduled May 7, at Flushing Meadows. I will try to make an appearance; release any knowledge I know, and try to find the help needed to bring this to a realistic conclusion.

But, don't get your hopes up.

It has become increasingly difficult operating this equipment single handed.

My thoughts have become sporadic and charred by my misfortunes. The small pittance earned from the sale has all but run out completely, pretty much making this whole thing pointless. Sorry for you, Thad, while your mother wiped the hard drive clean, she did not obliterate the cache. The information is retrievable. But, I fear, my deterioration may hinder any chances of me finding the cure. Why have you done this? Why? Were you bored? Did you want attention? What do you think you could have personally gained? I'm curious what you are seriously expecting/hoping for.

As for those of us who worked on the project, we felt we were doing mankind a favor. Our operation was covert from the beginning. We had no idea something as misguided as a falling chunk of space debris would not only take out one of our satellites, but also accelerate one of the many experiments which had not been properly safeguarded. We just didn't know.

The crew has scattered. Some ran away; frightened by what had happened. Many remained, trying to tighten security in the event some unforeseeable occurrence happens in the future. As for the "here and now," clean-up teams have formed to eradicate the errors I have made, both here in NYC and in London. Along with my co-workers (good luck, assholes), that bitch, Sakura, has left me here to die, running off on some idiotic tangent to find Thad. I still don't know who that little shit is, or why he's so hell bent on whatever "mission" he feels he needs to conquer!

I can only wait and see. If he's infected, as he claims to be, ... And, I see by some of the comments posted here, the infection may be spreading despite any efforts by the YMR solutionists. Living flesh is not concrete.

Eventually, concrete erodes and crumbles.

There has been published such brazen lies and utter fictions about me that I would long since have gone to my grave if I had let myself pay attention. The difficulties of a jobless (and very sick) man, who's only claim to fame was a little film with a single, jarring 9/11 reference, can not come to grips with what many perceive to be the real world outside their own shell of reality.

I can not return this LapTop to Hal, unless I know for sure
that he is not associated with the enemy!

Pieces of the creature have been distributed worldwide for
scientific experimentation. Military applications have been
set forth to try and duplicate the compounds for use in
battle armor.

Furthermore, many of the smaller creatures have been kept
alive, and their toxins have also been evaluated by Military
scientists as a possible bio-weapon!

Regardless of the information I have discovered, Hal must
have known some of this. Apparently, he's been infected
with the toxin, and claims he left a piece of whatever element
he was working on (maybe an antidote?) back in a hotel room
while stationed in Europe.

There are no clues, and there are no great remedies.

The Hand Of Liberty!
That's what they call the effigy.

The dedication ceremony was one year after the debacle (my mom takes horrible pictures). The creature's destruction of the city paled in comparison to the damage left by our military. While I knew the Statue of Liberty was destroyed, I had no idea the circumstances surrounding the whereabout of its head! The images on the video were shocking - there's bound to be pictures that were taken that night floating around the Internet.

A lot has been going on this past week.
Sakura met up with Hal. He's in rough shape, and I'm not sure of their current status. They disappeared before I could approach them at the restaurant. They need to contact me as some of the information on this LapTop is extremely hard to decipher. What is plǝıɟɹǝʌolɔ?

I got a bit frustrated going through some of Hal and his guest's junk, and decided to watch a movie. I popped open the disc tray and found these scraps of paper!

Also, Hal's guest user may have known something of the fate of the statue.
This image was dated nearly one month prior to the incident!

I'm under close watch, but the officials deem me as "just a kid with a computer."
Whenever they are around, I play video games! Yeesh!

One a side note. Hal's daughter (and many of the wedding guests) perished in a bizarre occurrence. The FBI stepped in, but not before the coroner had reported: "asphyxiation due to contaminated Sterno usage." Hal was not the only one feeling 'blue' that day.

It Starts With The Flu

I have taken the computer away from my mom!

The virus that has been spreading through NYC seems to be contained (for now).
I fear the reports from Europe deem not so well, as they had not been as prepared for the outbreak.

I have not yet been able to crack the second password on this thing, but I have watched some of the video. It seems to be raw footage from that night nearly two years ago.
I had to stop ... as I lost my father ... we were crossing the bridge while trying to get out of the city.

One of Hal's messages to his manager was that he feels he wasted his life on the "project."
"... I feel time management was our failure in warning innocent citizens of the impending crisis. ... I wish I had never worked with the Administration during the cover up. While I have destroyed the original tapes, I saved copies before burning them to the SD cards that were requested for Military Training. ... Now, it's begun yet again! And you all continue to remain on your lazy asses; worried more about the 'bottom dollar' than you are about the lives of millions of souls. With regrets, I have unfortunately, and unintended, left one of the samples at the hotel room in London. After my return to New York, I have taken ill and can no longer continue with this charade. Word will get out. I promise you! -Hal"

I've yet to watch any more of the footage, but there are two more videos on this thing.
While viewing, my memories have been pouring in full force. It took me quite some time to determine whether I should set this right with the authorities, or continue Hal's blog on my own.

Overnight

My name is Carol Foster.

I am a member of the overnight nursing staff at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Mr. M was one of my many patients.
He left the hospital prematurely after his latest surgery
(taking his arm with him).
This laptop was one of the items I had retrieved from his apartment,
along with a brief journal, both of which he has left behind.

After failing several attempts at cracking the password,
I brought my 14 year old son down to the hospital to try his skills with the thing.
It turns out the password was "PASSWORD."
Mr. M is a fan of movie monsters as his icon was that of Godzilla.
There's also a "Guest"
(whom my son has not yet been able to crack this password),
with an icon resembling some form of tribal tattoo:
a symbol resembling a snake with a sword or dagger trust into it.

There's not much information on the laptop,
just a few odd videos, and some notes.
After checking his eMail contacts, (which there are only three) I found this blog,
which is highly outrageous and inappropriate to my mind.
The remaining contacts are to his management
and someone who I would assume to be his daughter.
I have sent the message of his disappearance,
but there has been no return contact.

As for Mr. M ... The tests have been coming back,
and it turns out his infection was not due to the bite from his neighbor!
In fact, "Richard" has stumbled in also showing signs of the same infection.
Mr. M's viral status must have been contracted while in Europe or, worst case,
before he initially left New York.

An agent from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has locked down Mr. M's apartment building, and is currently assembling the roster list of both flights Mr. M has taken.

I will also try to decipher Mr. M's chicken scratch from his journal
and post any information I do find here.

I enter surgery in three hours. I'm not sure of the details, but my Doctor informs me it's to "repair damaged muscle tissue due to the spread of the infection."

Among the items gathered from my place of residence, I am pleased to have been once again connected to the outside world via my LapTop. Thank you all for your support during this time of malady.

As planned, I checked in with my Doctor on Tuesday.
He admitted me into St. Vincent's Hospital.
A nurse's aid went to my apartment to gather some items; I am scheduled for surgery this weekend.

I have no feeling in my fingertips and my hair is falling out in clumps.

I have not heard word from my Daughter since her Wedding Day.

I'm not sure if it's just me and my body shakes, but there seems to be seismic activity, and it's not my imagination that the lights flicker during those moments.

The constant moaning and occasional screams, along with an endless barrage of sirens from the outside world prevent me from a proper sleep.

I had returned to my apartment in New York for just this occasion. I know things will go well for her, although I had hoped to video-tape the event.

Alas, my prayers will go out to her and her husband in my dreams.
